Once you’ve ventured into the White House, the next step is naturally to venture into Wonderland! At least for Tom Binns. If you haven’t yet noticed Tom Binns creations adorning Michelle Obama, you’ll probably notice him when Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland hits the big screen in March 2010. Tom is set to create two lines for Spring. If you have deep pockets, Walt Disney Signature collection will feature six creations each inspired by characters and events in the movie, including the Mad Hatter, the White Queen, the Red Queen and the White Rabbit. This limited-edition collection, which includes the cute teacup necklace (pictured), is expected to be priced between $1,000 to $2,000! Pockets aren’t so deep? Tom will also create a line of more affordable pieces for Disney Couture which will include 35 pieces offered at a more wallet-friendly $100 to $500.
And what does the jewelry-maker think about designing for the main mouse? “I’m not really a Mickey Mouse kind of guy, but ‘Alice’ is a weird little story and my imagination lends itself to that crazy world and works well his vibe.”
