LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris just wrapped up it’s fall 2010 season in Toronto, and following the innovative styles we saw on and off the runways, I thought I would present some of the most notable figures that have embraced fashion and made it their own, and influenced the most renowned designers of our time.
Isabella Blow – if you love Alexandre McQueen, there’s a chance you may have heard of her. Her life is inspirational yet tragic. A prominent figure in the fashion world, she worked as an assistant to Anna Wintour at American Vogue, and continued her career at Tatler, British Vogue, and The Sunday Times. Convinced that she was ugly, she always wore a Philip Treacy hat, which hid most of her face except for her lips which were always painted bright red.
Isabella died on Sunday, May 6, 2007, after poisoning herself. When she passed she was battling both cancer and deep feelings of unhappiness. But she will forever be known for her eccentric style and her ability to wear a Treacy hat like no one else.
Enjoy!
