Since news broke that Sarah Burton would fill McQueen’s shoes as new creative director of the house, the fashion gliteratti has been eagerly anticipating her debut line to see if it lives up to the McQueen name. And guess what, it does! But I guess it’s not that surprising considering she worked with McQueen for 16 years. Her first resort 2011 collection is said to be inspired by Hans Bellmer dolls and samurai warriors, and really seems to captures the essence of McQueen’s drama, structure and imagination.
Although Alexander McQueen could never be duplicated, I am ecstatic that there was someone out there who could represent him so well. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! Wonder what she will do to top the lobter-claw shoe?
