You don’t go away to a beach in Mexico without coming home with a few treasures! Even though this was by no means a shopping trip, a shopaholic such as myself always finds a way to find something to buy.
As you can see, I found an assortment of goods : )
I bought this plate my first night in Riviera Maya (I know, it really didn’t take me long). I’ve always liked these plates with the colourful patterns. My kitchen is white, so this splash of colour is the perfect addition to it.
I found these bracelets when we visited Isla Mujeres. One made with pink, black, brown and whites beads and the other made out of some seashell (I think…). I also bought another like the beaded one in turquoise, which I gave to my mom! P.S. The gift shop in our hotel had the exact same bracelet as the white for about 10 times what I paid. It’s worth it to shop around.
We had these at our hotel. The tiny jars are so cute I couldn’t resist bringing them home! (I know, I’m weird).
Another great find at Isla Mujeres – this fushia sarong. Even though you can’t see it in the pic, there is a turtle pattern!
And finally the most touristy souvenir. We were totally conned into buying this when someone walked up to us and asked us our names. We thought he worked for the hotel and the next thing we know we owed his $12 for two postcards! We finally agreed to just buy one. I like to think of it as fabulously tacky!
