Recently there has been a shift in the way we wear colour. For spring it seems to be all about mixing bold colours in unexpected combinations, which I can’t wait to try (if only this pesky snow could melt already!). But from time to time there seems to be a revival of the monochromatic look. We’ve seen it a few years back and it has recently made an appearance for fall. I love this look – chic, laid back, and the perfect choice to elongated your silhouette.
1- Mix shades of the same colour to create the right contrast.
2- Play around with textures and details. Think about mixing a satin fabric with cotton for example. But mix it up and have fun with it. Pairing too similar textures and details will result in fashion suicide.
The photo above illustrates my idea of the perfect monochromatic look, right down to the choice of colour. Effortlessly chic!
