When you mention the women’s super bowl, everyone knows you are talking about the Oscars, right?! Well last night was the 83rd Academy Awards and women everywhere gathered around TVs across America to Ohhh and Ahhh (and criticize) the fashion picks of Hollywood’s glitterati. I know most have already posted their picks for best dressed, but better late than never! Here are the looks that caught my attention and literally made me say “Wow!”
It was Natalie Portman’s night! I’m so happy she won. Before picking up her golden statue, she stunned the red carpet in a purple Rodarte gown. Love the neckline, love the color, love the all-over glow!
Anne Hathaway is the picture if glam to me. She never seems to disappoint on the red carpet, and how could you when you are wearing a gorgeous Versace gown! I even heard that she was strutting the red carpet with the designer diva himself! I have to say that Miss Hathaway was on point with every one of her eight costume changes of the night!
I love how 14-year-old Hailee Steinfeld knows how to work the red carpet more than other Hollywood veterans. The best supporting actress nominee was looking grogeous in an age-appropriate self-designed dress made by Marchesa. Again, so simple yet so elegant. This just goes to show that less in more!
I am a girly girl, so naturally, I gravitated towards this dress. The Elie Saab dress worn by Mila Kunis complemented her skin tone perfectly and looked light and airy. I have to say, I definitely had a girl crush moment when I saw her on the red carpet.
Calvin Klein is another designer that I always seem to love on the red carpet. And Gwyneth Paltrow just rocked this simple shimmery number, completing her sleek look with pin-straight hair. I heard her singing was a little off key, so I guess it’s a good thing that she looked so great!
Although many criticized this dress, I thought Jennifer Hudson looked fantastic. I mean, look at that body! The Oscar winner chose this tangerine Versace gown and the desired effect was acheived – she definitely turned heads! With a body like that, why wouldn’t you!
Last but not least, Reese Witherspoon opted for a Giorgio Armani Privé gown. Paired with emerald green earrings, she looked beautiful. I can’t help but think of Barbie when I look at her here, and I like it!
