When you think about beautiful brows, who comes to mind? Audrey Hepburn, Camilla Belle, Elizabeth Taylor – all have beautiful, bold brows. There’s no doubt that eyebrows can transform your face. But finding the perfect shape for your face can be tricky, so it’s always better to seek out a professional who will be able to determine the right shape for you. Once you’ve got that step out of the way, it’s just a matter of maintaining them. I’ve never been one to fill in my eyebrows since i’ve never had that bad 90s overplucked look (I’ve got my mom to thank for that!), but I can appreciate the polished look a little filling in can give.
I was recently sent the Anastasia Bold & Beautiful Brow Kit to review and was so excited when it came in the mail. The kit comes with two volumes – Volume 1: Bold Brows and Volume 2: Beautiful Eyes.
Volume 1: Bold Brows includes a brow powder (to fill in the brows), a brow pomade (to set in all in place), and a small pair of tweezers and double-sided brush (one side angled and the other side a spoolie). The brow powder is a beautiful taupe shade perfect to fill in most brow shades (think blondes and brunettes). The wax is a little darker, and keeps stray brows in place without the crunchy feeling. That’s one thing I love about Anastasia Beverly Hills products – of all the brow gels I’ve tried, I love that they don’t make your brows looks shiny and crunchy, something I’ve experienced with other brands of brow products.
Volume 2: Beautiful Eyes is a quad of four neutral shades that can be used dry or wet, and can be mixed and matched to create plenty of looks for day and night, and a double-sided brush (one side flat and the other . The kit includes a matte cream shade, a peachy shimmery shade, a satin taupe with gold glitter and a dark brown with copper glitter. The dark brown shade is absolutely gorgeous, seriously the photos don’t do it justice!
Need a little inspiration? Here are a few looks to help you get started with your kit featuring some of the most inspiring characters from a few famous films.
The Great Gatsby: THE DAISY “A New Money Smokey Eye”
The Hunger Games: District 12 “a Capitol Eye”
Anna Karenina: Anna’s Gaze “A Refined Smokey Eye”
Valley of the Dolls: NEELY “A Catty Eye”
Over the past few months, I’ve been lucky enough to review quite a few items from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have to admit that although I had never been drawn to these products before, I am more than impressed with the quality of all the products I’ve tried. The kits are always so beautifully packaged and very travel-friendly (who doesn’t love to be able to throw it in your bag for quick touch-ups on the go). The brow products are versatile enough to create a natural brow or can be built up for a bolder look. The eyeshadows are always very pigmented, super blendable and so easy to work with. Even the lipglosses (not included in this kit) are like nothing I’ve ever seen. They give your lips a glossy shine that eventually fades (like all gosses do), but leaving behind a beautiful stain that lasts for hours.
