There comes a time in every food bloggers life when you want to take it to the next level. I’ve mastered breakfast and desserts, cakes and muffins. It was time to set the bar a little higher for myself. My first attempt was making homemade pizza dough. Although it was a time-consuming process, the results were so worth it. Crispy and delicious crust fresh from the oven. Could there be anything better than that? Turns out there is! Homemade New York-style bagels!
I came across this recipe for New York-style bagels and felt inspired. With just a couple of ingredients and a bit of time, I could have bagels fresh from the oven? Sign me up! So after a particularly busy week, I was more than happy to spend my Sunday morning relaxing in the kitchen. I expected the process to be complicated but I was pleasantly surprised! They turned out crispy on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside. Topped with honey ricotta, they were the perfect end of the week treat.
