You are what you eat.
We’ve heard it a million times, but you know deep down that what you eat is reflected in how you look and feel. So why is it that when we are trying to treat premature wrinkles, soriasis, rosacea, acne, cellulite, dark under eye circles, or any other skin issue, we are always reaching for creams and ointments? The truth is, everything you need is right in your kitchen.
The 8-week Healthy Skin Diet is a clever guide packed with useful information and more than 100 recipes to improve the quality of your skin and reveal glowing skin in just 8 weeks.
The message of this book is quite simple – whatever your skin type, whatever your skin condition, you can look fantastic within eight weeks by adopting this holistic, natural approach. The book is organized by section to make it easy to find information and reference anytime The author begins by providing information to get to know your skin. Then, she outlines the 8 guidelines for healthy skin, which include how to moisturize your skin from the inside out, how eating less can make your skin (and waistline) look better, the benefits of being a sleeping beauty and the beauty benefits of relaxation. In another chapter, she explains the 8-week diet and how to adopt it into your lifestyle (which is really quite easy). She also touches upon common skin issues and how certain foods can aggravate or improved the condition of your skin. I personally loved the chapter “How to be beautiful”, which focuses on inner beauty and how to create a positive energy that will be felt by others.
Overall, the Healthy Skin Diet is quite easy to follow. I already have quite the addiction to healthy foods, so incorporating these recipes into my diet was super simple. But then again, with delicious recipes like herb and garlic chicken casserole, sweet banana porridge, rainbow trout with honey-roasted vegetables, and banana cake, how could you not want to try it!
This is a wonderful book for anyone looking to improve their health and their skin. Although some of the information was common sense, there are many passages that got me saying, “Wow! Really?!”. Plus, if you already eat healthy, this is a wonderful addition to your cookbook collection. Need a little convincing? Check out this deliciously yummy recipe for the Papaya Beauty Smoothie.
