It’s no secret that what you do today will affect how your skin looks tomorrow. So I do my best to eat clean as much as I can, limit my alcohol intake and get my 8 hours of sleep a night (which is definitely easier said than done). But the excessive work days, late nights and sweets treats (a.k.a. stress, lack of sleep and indulgences) are starting to show up under my eyes. It’s time for a little D.I.Y. bright-eye intervention.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 tsp. aloe vera gel
1 vitamin E gel capsule
Olive, flaxseed or grapeseed oil
1- Mix the aloe vera gel with the coconut oil and mix .
2- Make a tiny hole in the vitamin E capsule and squirt the contents in with the aloe vera/coconut oil mixture.
3- Add a few drops of the oil of your choice and mix until it’s a thick consistency.
4- Cut cotton rounds in half and spread a thick layer of the cream and place in the freezer for about 15 minutes. You want it to be very cold since this will help reduce the puffiness under the eyes.
5- Place the cotton pads under your eye and leave on for about 15 minutes. When the 15 minutes are up, don’t wash the leftover cream off, instead work it into your skin.
6- Follow with your regular moisturizer or eye cream.
The great thing is that the cream will make them stick to your face so you can watch TV, read or do whatever while it works its magic. I feel it’s best to do before bedtime or before an event.
