The focus of my beauty purchases this month was mainly skin related. I’ve always been a big believer in caring for your skin. In fact, if I’m spending my money anywhere, it will most likely be on a good skin care product. I also had to restock a few favourites and ventured into trying a new hair product.
Those of you who follow my blog regularly know about my love affaire with Ole Henriksen. From the very first product I tried, Ole had my heart and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve tried other products but always seem to come back to these basics. I wandered into Sephora to pick up the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum, but as luck would have it, they still had a few holiday sets in stock, so I seized the opportunity to try the Invigorating Night Treatment and get my hands on a back up of the Sheer Transformation cream. So far, Ole hasn’t let me down with these newbies!
I browsed around looking for a new dry shampoo or maybe just an alternative to the one I already had. Essentially I was looking for a way to revive my hair between shampoos and add a refreshing scent. The girl at Sephora recommended I give the Bumble and Bumble Tonic Lotion a try. It’s formulated with vitamins, herbs and tea tree oil to tame tangles, refresh your head, feed your hair, and soothe your scalp. Just the thing I need during our dry Canadian winters.
My Kat Von D Tattoo Liner quit on my in the middle of drawing the perfect cat eye. I reached for an alternative I had in my makeup bag, but nothing really compares to the intensity, precision and ease of use of this liner. Finally, a little something new to my skin care routine is the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask. I got a sample of this the last time I was in Sephora. I used it once and had to get the full-size version. The product itself is a goopy black texture that glides on your skin quite easily with a foundation brush. Let it dry for about 30 minutes, then peel it off(ladies, you’ll want to do this when you’re home alone to avoid weirding out your man). The results are amazing – skin is super soft, your skin tone is so luminous and it gives your complexion an overall glow that you won’t want to cover with makeup.
