Sundays are the best! You work all week to make it into the weekend, only to spend your Saturday running errands and getting all the stuff that you didn’t get to during the week. It goes without saying that a lazy Sunday is not only a guilty pleasure, it’s sometimes very necessary. That being said, here are some of my favourite ways to spend a lazy Sunday.
Go for a walk
Sundays are typically my days off from working out, but that doesn’t mean that it’s a reason to stay indoors all day. Make the most of a sunny Sunday by going on a long walk. Take a route that’s familiar to you and take the time to look around and rediscover the world around you. Or set off to explore a new trail.
Cook something you’ve never cooked before
A Sunday is the perfect time to plan your meals for the week ahead. It’s also a great time to try something new. You have all day to visit the farmer’s market for fresh ingredients, discover new foods and try out new recipes. And if a recipe fails, you’ll still have time to try something else.
Finally try that new spot
There’s this one place you’ve been dying to try. Maybe it has amazing croissants, or the most original ice cream. A lazy Sunday is the perfect day to get out there and try it out. Plus calories don’t count on Sundays, right?!
Reconnect with friends
Our lives are so busy that we sometimes end up unknowingly neglecting our friends. Take some time to write a handwritten letter to a friend, or drop a quick text to say “what’s up!”. Everyone likes getting attention and, let’s face it, it’s a great feeling when you know someone is thinking of you.
Reconnect with yourself
We spend so much time making sure others are happy, but tend to forget about ourselves in the process. Take the time to do exactly what you want to do, whether it’s pampering yourself with a mani/pedi or a facial, finally starting that book on your nightstand or laying out in the sun.
