One of the things I love so much about makeup is the feeling of treating yourself to a designer item without breaking the bank. I have been obsessed with the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat for the longest time, fearing the day that I will run out and not be able to use it for that one day. The last time that day came along, I marched into Sephora and picked up my perfect shade (1.5 Radiant Silk, if anyone is interested) but then paused. After years of reaching for the same product, I felt it was time to live on the edge and try something new. That something was the Givenchy Mister Light Instant Light Corrective Pen.
What is it?
A concealer pen that helps minimize dark circles and skin imperfections. The formula is a little thicker and creamier than the YSL Touche Éclat and it contains tiny flecks of shimmer to add that touch of radiance to your skin. The formula is fragrance free and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
How did it perform?
I was pleasantly surprised by the formula of this highlighter, but I have to admit that my expectations were high. The formula applies very easily and blended effortlessly. It covered my dark circle and definitely helped me look more awake! It’s also great when used as a highlighter. It worked beautifully when concealing redness, but I tried using it on a blemish though and it didn’t look so hot, so for that I ended up reaching for my MAC concealer.
Overall, the Givenchy Mister Light Pen mostly does what it sets out to do. While it did a great job and concealing my dark circles and brightening my eyes, it didn’t do such a great job at concealing other imperfections. The formula is wonderfully creamy and doesn’t leave a cakey finish on your skin. And the best part, it lasts all day!
Givenchy Mister Light Instant Light Corrective Pen is available at Sephora for $39 CAD.
