Lately I’ve been on a mission. I’ve been on a mission to transition my home into a minimalist space. Yes, I know the challenge I have undertook, but I believe that slowly yet surely I will make it. Each week, I choose a section of my house to go through and purge the things I don’t need, don’t use or just have too much of. Books, kitchen gadgets, magazines, clothes, beauty products, accessories… if I don’t love it, if it doesn’t spark joy, if I don’t use it or if I didn’t spend an absurd amount of money on it, it’s gone. Why am I doing this? Well, truth be told, this past year has made me realize that I tend to buy things out of the sheer pleasure of spending money. But too often, I would bring my new purchase home and realize that the thrill was gone. So now I try to spend on things that I really need or really love. I also hate clutter, and what better way to eliminate clutter than to rid yourself of useless items. If you need a little more convincing into why I’m slowly embracing minimalism, here are some of my favourite spaces that showcase the trend. Bright, airy and soothing… that’s why I’m loving minimalism.
