Last week I had the pleasure of attending an event celebrating the Lise Watier Foundation and their achievements in partnership with Familiprix and Bizou. If you’ve never heard of this foundation, here’s why it’s such a beautiful initiative. The Lise Watier Foundation is dedicated to changing the lives of women in Canada, driven by the desire to help women gain control of their lives, move out of poverty and build a brighter future for themselves. Sadly, in Quebec in 2010, one out of ten women lived below the poverty line, even if most single mothers were employed (and this number is higher for women the it is for men). So every dollar collected counts towards changing the lives of women.
The “Carry the Light” Campaign
The campaign encourages people to “carry the light” to inspire men and women to come together for a cause and donate time and money. For the campaign, jewelry designers created this beautiful double-chain necklace and the Lise Watier Sparkle of Hope lipgloss, both exclusively created to benefit the Lise Watier Foundation. BTW, can we just talk about how cool this gloss is with it’s built in light? Amazing!
You can also “carry the light” on social media by sharing a selfie or photo of the Sparkle of Hope lipgloss, an inspiring story or a good deed of the day and using the #carrythelight. Or you can make a donation directly to the Lise Watier Foundation.
I absolutely adore this campaign. Not only does it help women to become financially independent, it also celebrates the strengths of women and encourages them to shine bright. How can you not love a cause like that!
