Vegan – because I’m becoming the change I wish to see in the world.
Before I committed to veganism, I remember thinking how difficult it must be. For me, food is the easy part. What’s more tricky is the beauty products, clothing and everyday items that we use. Some brands make it very obvious tat their products are cruelty-free, but in general I found that it takes a little more research to know what’s in the products that you’re using. I, myself, am still on my journey to a vegan lifestyle. There are still products that I own that aren’t vegan, however moving forward I’m trying to be more conscious of my habits and how they affect the environment. Like I said, we’re all on our own journey. That being said, I wanted to start a series on my blog sharing some of my favourite vegan products, including clothes, beauty, skincare and (duh!) food. So without further ado, let’s get started!
Sometimes you just need a sweet treat at the end of a meal. Koukla Delights are ridiculously good and made with the simplest of ingredients – coconut flakes, almonds, maple syrup, vanilla extract and Himalayan crystal salt – all organic. They come in five flavours, but the vanilla and cacao flavours have a special place in my heart.
I know I’m super late in the game with this one. But in my defence, I’m new to the game when it comes to any primer. I wear minimal makeup on a daily basis and rarely any foundation. So a primer that can even out my skin tone has become a regular part of my makeup routine. The green, lavender and peachy swirls do wonders to even out my skin and give it a bright glow. A swipe of concealer is all I need after that to get my skin looking flawless.
This is on the pricier side of the haircare spectrum, but it’s worth every penny in my opinion (especially if you have colour treated hair). No matter what, colour treated hair takes a beating during the colouring process. This leave-in spray is formulated with carnelian, olive and coconut oil to provide 21 benefits (that’s right, 21) to restore, protect and perfect your hair. There’s no other product out there that will give your hair the love it deserves.
Lately I’ve been more and more into crystals and the power they bring to us. It started a while ago when I received a rose quartz as a gift. Since then I’ve been curious as to how each could impact my life. I came across this jewelry designer by chance and fell in love with this necklace. Simple, yet powerful, you can choose the stone you want. I am particularly drawn to the rose quartz because of its ability to open the heart, enhance creativity and heal emotional wounds. It’s also considered to be a lovers stone and can benefit the circulatory system and help relieve anxiety.
My main obsession is skincare (and food… and fitness). But mainly skincare. Lately I discovered a new night serum that I’ve been LOVING! This serum works wonders. Loaded with AHA, it exfoliates dead skin cells, promotes cell renewal, target hyperpigmentation and reduces the appearance of fine lines. Plus, a bottle lasts forever because you just need a drop or two every 3 days. This is beauty sleep, redefined.
